In an interview with Parry Sound Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith yesterday, Smith emphasized the long-term vison of the 2024-2025 provincial budget, which was introduced on Tuesday.

Through significant spending, totaling a record $214 billion. Smith underscored the budget's focus on positioning the province for future success amidst challenging times, prioritizing progress.

Smith says that over the past five years, the government has committed to addressing infrastructure deficits and ensuring Ontario's readiness for long-term prosperity.

Key spending in the budget includes more funding for municipal infrastructure, laying the groundwork for new housing developments, as well as highway expansion, healthcare, and education.

Despite a projected deficit of $9.8 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, beginning April 1st, the emphasis remains on investing in Ontario's future, he said.
